HOW TO MAKE FABRIC SOFTENER - STEP BY STEP

Fabric Softener or AfterWash has also gain prominence in the detergent industry.  It has market and require small capital to making and selling Fabric Softener. This process seeks to make 30 liters of fabric softener.

Ingredients

These are the ingredients and the quantity needed to produce 30 liters of Fabric Softener.

Flakes	550 grams / 2 cups
Softener	500 ml
Alcohol	250 ml
Steric Acid	70 grams
Preservative	50 grams
Color	Your taste
Propalene	40 ml
Fragrance/Perfume	20 ml

 

Equipment/Items

These are the equipment needed to when making liquid for commercial purpose or for the home.

1.      4.5 liters paint rubber

2.      30 liters rubber bowl

3.      Source of heat – (Firewood, gas, charcoal and electricity)

4.      Saucepan

5.      Size ‘10’ Cooking pot

Process

1.      Set up your fire and put the cooking pot on it.

2.      Pour 15 liters of water into the cooking pot and allow it to boil to about 100^oc.

3.      When the water boils to the right degree stated in STEP 2, you can now put your saucepan on another fire.

4.      Pour the flakes into the saucepan and allow it to melt. You can stir for it melt quickly.

5.      Add the Softener to the melted flakes and keep stirring. (When you add your softener, the mixture will become white.

6.      Allow the mixture to boil for about 10 – 15 minutes on the fire.

7.      After that, pour the mixture into your 30 liter rubber bowl and quickly add the 15 liters of hot water.

8.      Use the 4.5 liter paint rubber to turn the mixture for about a minute.

9.      Add 15 liters of cold water to your hot mixture bit by bit – 5 liters by 5 liters.

10.  When your mixture cools down, you can now add your alcohol and propylene glycol.

11.  Use the 4.5 liter rubber bowl to keep turning the mixture.

12.  Fetch about 500 ml of the mixture and add the color and preservative and stir for it to mix well. After mixing, pour it back into your fabric softener.

13.  Use the 4.5 liter rubber bowl to turn it for about 10 times and add your perfume. You are done.
