Add your Beeswax, almond oil, argan oil and jojoba oil. Allow it to melt completely and bring it down from the fire. It is advisable to put in the beeswax first before you add the rest of the chemicals. For instance the essentials on in the recipe. So always make sure that, you have the beeswax melt before you add the others.

After bringing it down, allow it to harden a bit and then add your aloe vera gel to it. With an electric hand mixer stir the mixture very well for it to become smooth. You can add emulsifying wax and cetyl alcohol to it if you don't find the mixture to be smooth. When you add emulsifying wax to the mixture to soften the cream, it is the opportunity to add water to the mixture but it should be warm or hot water. This is because it will be difficult for the mixture to mix with the cold water.

To be on the safer side, you must put water into a saucepan on fire, add your beeswax, emulsifying wax and cetyl alcohol to it and then allow it to melt and then bring it down from the fire and stir. You can leave it for it to cool down before you add the rest of the ingredients.

Measure the ingredients

We have always recommended measuring for your product. This is particularly important if you know what want. And so measuring the ingredients so that there is no mistake and even if a mistake happens, you will be able to tell where the mistake is coming from.

Set your fire melt ingredient

It must be noted that not all the ingredients will go onto the fire. The solid ingredients like petroleum jelly, cetyl alcohol, petroleum jelly, shea butter, and paraffin wax must be on the fire. Do not let it boil so immediately, all these ingredients melt, bring it down from the fire. Allowing the ingredients to boil on the fire may result in the product losing some potency for its intended work.

Bring it down from fire and add menthol crystals

After melting and knowing that the product has heated a little bit, bring it down from the fire and then add your menthol crystal and stir very well. The menthol crystals melt faster when the product is hot so immediately after bringing it down from the fire, add your menthol crystals. It must be noted that, when you add the menthol crystals, it will emit some minty air which you should be aware of.

Add your other ingredients

As indicated, you cannot add the liquid ingredients and some other ingredients while the product is on fire. So when you bring it down from the fire, allow it to cool down and then begin to add oils and other ingredients to the product and stir very well. In our case, we are adding propylene glycol, glycerine, white oil, lavender oil, and peppermint oil to the mixture and then stir very well.

Add color and methyl salicylate

This is not the last thing to add to the product, if you have any other ingredients, you want to add, you can add them after the color and methyl salicylate. Often, people have asked us whether they can add fragrance to their ointment. The answer is yes. But the question will be why would ever want to add fragrance to your ointment. The chemicals used in making ointment like the methyl salicylate has a peculiar smell which you will find in most of the ointment on the market. So in this recipe, add your color and also the methyl salicylate to the mixture and stir very well.

Pour into your containers

Do not let the product dry in the saucepan to make it very difficult to work for you. Immediately after adding the ingredients, pour the product into your containers and allow it to dry in the container to give a shiny nice looking surface.

TAKE HOME

If you follow the process very well, you should be able to prepare the OINTMENT without any problem. Please note that, if you are going to use this product for business, you must get dedicated equipment to do this product. Also, you must have a place to store the ingredients and also keep the final product as most of the ingredients used as the methyl salicylate has a strong and hot smell that affects children and other people in the home.
