USE PLANTAIN PEELS TO MAKE SOAP

INGREDIENTS

As mentioned earlier, ingredients for making soap is readily available in the market and it is very cheap for anyone to buy. In this soap we are going to make, we will need for the following chemicals.

  • Caustic Soda                           250ml
  • Oil -  Palm Kernel Oil             500 ml
  • Silicate                                    10 ml
  • Fragrance                                10 ml
  • Glycerin                                  15 ml
  • Plantain Peels
  • Soap Mold

 
PROCESS

Following this process accordingly, should help you prepare or make about 12 tablets of soap from the ingredients listed up there.

  • Blend the Plantain peel and squeeze out the juice in it
  • Soak it with caustic soda and leave it for 3 days to ferment
  • After 3 days, Pour your oil in a bowl
  • Fetch about 250 ml of the caustic soda solution (lye) to it and stir for it to mix well
  • Add your glycerin and silicate and stir
  • Add your fragrance to the mix and stir very well.
  • Pour the soap solution or mixture into your mold to get the desired shape.

CAUTION!

Lye is extremely caustic. It causes burns if splashed on the skin and can cause blindness if splashed into the eye. If drunk, they can be fatal. Because of these dangers, keep small children away from the processing room while soap is being made.
